Overview

General Construction & Remodeling, done right

Most remodels in New York stall for the same reason: too many hands. A framer, a plumber, an electrician and a painter each wait on the other. Empire Pro NY carries every one of those trades in-house. One team, one plan, one person who answers your calls.

We work in the housing New York actually has. Attached rowhouses where a shared wall limits what can move. Co-ops and condos where the board wants drawings and insurance before anyone lifts a hammer. One- and two-family homes with older wiring, cast-iron stacks and basement apartments that have to stay livable while the work happens on the floors above.

Every project begins with a free estimate at your home. We walk the space with you, talk through what you want and what the building allows, and put the scope in writing before any work begins. We pull DOB permits where required and handle the paperwork your board asks for.

What we fix

  • A layout that no longer fits the way you live

Closed-off kitchens, hallway bedrooms and dead corners. We open walls where the structure allows, add beams where it does not, and lay out rooms around your routine.

  • A home that has not been touched in a long time

Tired finishes often hide tired systems behind them. A full renovation lets us replace old wiring, cast-iron drain lines and failing plaster in one pass instead of piecemeal.

  • Two apartments that should be a single home

Combining units means structural engineering, new plumbing and electrical runs, and board or DOB approval. We plan the sequence so you are not living in a construction site any longer than needed.

  • A rental unit between tenants

Small landlords need a turnover done right and done fast. We refresh kitchens, baths, floors and paint, fix the code items an inspector would flag, and get the unit ready to show.

  • Water, fire or storm damage that needs rebuilding

After the cleanup comes the rebuild: framing, insulation, drywall, flooring and finishes. We coordinate with your insurance adjuster and restore the space to the way it was, or better.

Questions people ask

How much does a remodel cost?

It depends entirely on the space, the structure and the finishes you choose. We price after we see it, and the estimate is free and in writing.

Do I need a permit to renovate in NYC?

Many projects do, especially anything touching structure, plumbing or electrical. We tell you what applies to your job and file with the DOB where required.

Can you work in my co-op or condo?

Yes. We prepare the insurance certificates, drawings and schedules most boards request and follow the building rules on work hours and protection.

Can I live at home during the renovation?

Often, yes. We phase the work, seal off active areas and keep a working bathroom and kitchen available wherever possible.

Do you handle the design, or do I need an architect?

For layout changes we work alongside an architect or engineer where the DOB requires stamped drawings. For finish-level work we can plan the project with you directly.
