Overview
Kitchen & Bath Remodeling, done right
Kitchens and bathrooms are the hardest rooms in the house to renovate, because every trade meets inside them. Water, drains, gas, electrical, ventilation, tile and cabinetry all have to land in the right place at the right time. Empire Pro NY does all of it in-house, so the plumber and the tile setter are on the same schedule.
New York adds its own wrinkles. Cast-iron drain stacks that need checking before new fixtures go in. Galley kitchens where every inch counts. Wet stacks in co-ops and condos where the board has rules about where plumbing can move. Older wiring that has to be brought up to code before a new range or heated floor is connected.
We begin with a free visit. We measure, check the lines behind the walls, and talk through layout and finishes with you. Then you get a written scope and estimate, and we file DOB permits where required before we begin.
What we fix
A kitchen with no counter space and no storage
We rework the layout, relocate plumbing and electrical where the building allows, and install cabinetry that uses the full height of the room.
A bathroom that leaks into the unit below
Failed shower pans, cracked tile and old drain lines are common in older buildings. We open the floor, replace what has failed and waterproof properly before new tile goes down.
Poor ventilation and moisture damage
Many NYC bathrooms have no window and a weak or missing exhaust fan. We add or upgrade ventilation, replace what moisture has ruined and rebuild with moisture-resistant materials.
Not enough power for a modern kitchen
Older panels and circuits cannot handle a new range, dishwasher and microwave together. We add dedicated circuits and upgrade the panel where needed.
A bathroom that needs to be accessible
Curbless showers, grab bars, wider doorways and comfort-height fixtures let you or a relative stay in the home safely.

Questions people ask
How much does a kitchen or bathroom remodel cost?
It depends on the size of the room, what has to move and the finishes you pick. The written estimate is free and based on what we find at the visit.
Can you move the sink, toilet or shower?
Often, yes, especially in a house. In a co-op or condo it depends on the location of the wet stack and the building rules. We tell you what is possible at the visit.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen or bathroom renovation?
Replacing fixtures in place usually does not. Moving plumbing, changing electrical or altering walls usually does. We handle the DOB filing where required.
Will I have a working bathroom during the work?
If you have a second bathroom, yes. If you have only one, we plan the sequence to keep the toilet usable for as much of the job as possible and tell you exactly when it will be down.
Can you match the style of my prewar apartment?
Yes. We work with subway tile, hex floors, wood cabinetry and period-appropriate fixtures as readily as modern flat-panel designs.
